The union executive consists of :
-      President
-      Vice president
-      Prime minister
-      Council of ministers
The council of ministers consists of:
-      Cabinet ministers
-      Ministers of state
-      Deputy ministers
 
Q2) who elect the president?
 
Ans:
The president of India is elected through an electoral college consists of members of both houses of parliament, the legislative assemblies, legislative councils of all the states and  union territories.
 
Q3) Name the three types of the union council of ministers.
 
Ans:
The council of ministers consists of:
-      Cabinet ministers
-      Ministers of state
-      Deputy ministers
 
Q4) Why is the president position called a figure head? 
 
Ans:
The head of the government is the prime minister. The position of the president is mainly that of figure head and he or she is bound by the constitution to follow the advice of the prime minister.
 
Q5) Under what circumstances an emergency can be declared by the president?
 
Ans:
The president on the advice of the prime minister and council of ministers declares a state of emergency if :
-      There is an internal crisis or civil war like situation in the country.
-      There is an external force threating the sovereignty of the country.
-      There is a breakdown in the constitutional machinery of a particular state. In such a situation the president will impose president’s rule in the affected state.
-       There is a threat to the financial stability of the country.
 
Q6) What is RTI act? Discuss in detail.
 
Ans:
The Right To Information Act gives the access to any governmental record or file. According to this act any citizen can ask information from the public authority and this information has to be provided immediately or within 30 days. it is unjustly denied .
It is not applicable to the state of Jammu and Kasmir, or to information about defence and internal security.
 
Q7) What is meant by collective responsibility ?
 
Ans:
In the Indian democracy, the ministers are collectively responsible to the Lok Sabha as the Lok Sabha represent the people of India. If  and when the Lok Sabha passes a No-Confidence Motion, it is not just the prime minister but also all the ministers ho have to resign . this is known as the principle of collectively responsibility.
